2010 New York Tourism Film Festival Poster Competition

New York Tourism Film Festival is now accepting submissions for our new Film Festival Poster Competition! Deadline: 08/30/2010

Health Tourism International Chamber of Commerce will be presenting the New York Tourism Film Festival on December 15-19, 2010. For the first time, the Festival is putting a call out to artists for its annual poster artwork. Artists and designers are encouraged to submit work for the Film Festival Poster Competition by April 30, 2010.

Guidelines:
The competition is open to all artists, and all submissions must be received by the deadline of April 30, 2010 at 5:00pm. There is no limit to the number of submissions entered. There is one small entry fee of $25.00 USD. Entries will be accepted from individuals, collaborative teams, or design firms, with prize money being split between the entrants listed. No additional prize money will be awarded.

*Entries must be mounted on an 8 1/2" w x 11" h board.

In the artwork, be sure to include "1th New York Tourism Film Festival December 15-19." Entries may be in the form of photography, painting, graphic art, and illustration, in color or black and white. The design should be easy to translate into a range of print materials such as 30" x 36" size posters, newsprint ads, t-shirts, film, street banners, bus advertisements, etc.

Place your name, address, email and phone number on the back of each submission.
 
All submissions will be judged based on content, appeal and marketability. The decisions of the judges will be final. New York Tourism Film Festival does not take on liability for submissions. Please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your design(s) to be returned to you.

If your poster design is selected, you will win one travel to New York Tourism Film Festival and USD$1,000 and your design will contribute the look of the Festival by appearing on Festival posters, invitations, t-shirts, and much more, providing significant and immeasurable exposure to your artwork. Finalists will be announced in mid-Sep, and the winning poster will be revealed in September 2010 in New York. All posters that advance to the final round will be exhibited during the 2010 New York Tourism Film Festival, December 15-19, 2010.

The winners will be awarded with Hippocrates Award,prizes and certificates on 15 December 2010 during “Hippocrates Award ceremony" in New York City

Specification for photographs:

1. Entries must be submitted in digital file format. All files must be in JPEG and must be at least 300 dpi.

2. The entries must be original photographs taken by the contestants. By entering the contest, a participant acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work.

3. Each participant can submit one entry only.

4. Each photograph submitted must have a brief description of no more than 50 words of how it relates to the theme “Groundwater: today’s matter, manage it sustainably for better future”. The photograph can focus on concrete actions such as groundwater degradation, groundwater management practices etc.

5. Please submit your entry by email to: info@hippocratesaward.com no later than 17:00 local time on May 31, 2010

6. Please indicate the following details in your entry submissions: name, address, e-mail address, and contact numbers (home/office and mobile).

7. The picture entries will not be used for any commercial purposes by the organizers.

8. The entries will be judged by a panel of judges nominated by the organizers. The judges' decision will be the final. Cash prizes and certificate will be awarded to the winners on the 15th December 2010l. The selected photographs will be displayed on our website www.hippocratesaward.com and the activities for Water Day(March 22), 2011

9. Cash prizes: First prize: USD. 1 000 and travel to New York for Hippocrates Award ceremonies
